In off-road terrain, these vehicles can make good progress. They are often used in agriculture or forestry due to their small size. An ATV can access places that larger tractors cannot reach.
Due to its high center of gravity and narrow track, the quad can tip over if the driver doesn't shift their weight enough to the inside and counter-steer quickly enough. That's why we also train your skills during our quad tours so that you can handle all situations very well.
There are two brake levers on the handlebars and a foot brake. The left brake lever acts on the rear wheels, the right brake lever acts on the front wheels. The foot brake brakes all wheels simultaneously. But don't worry. We also train your skills during our quad tours so that you can handle all situations very well.
Quads and buggy driving is not like driving cars or motorcycles. And that's precisely the challenge when you rarely operate a quad. Due to their high ground clearance, quads also have a high center of gravity. Together with their often narrower track, they tend to tip over in curves more than other vehicles. That's why we also train your skills during our quad tours so that you can master all situations very well.
In the German Road Traffic Regulations (StVO), the legal helmet requirement also applies to quads and ATVs. 'Anyone who operates motorbikes or open three- or multi-wheeled motor vehicles with a design maximum speed of over 20 km/h, as well as those traveling on or in them, must wear an appropriate protective helmet while driving.' We also have trained safety personnel during our tours who ensure that all equipment complies with current regulations.
The vehicles that can be driven with a Class B driver's license are limited by the maximum registered speed indicated in the vehicle documents. Typically, the speed ranges from 80 to 120 km/h.
Each model, of course, has its advantages and disadvantages. That's why personal consultation is so important to us. An overview of all the quad and buggy models that we rent can be found here.
When riding a quad, it's important to shift your body weight in the opposite direction of centrifugal force when taking turns. In left turns, ATVs often tend to tilt to the right, so you should shift your body weight to the left. With this technique, the rider uses their own body weight to balance the force, allowing for faster and safer turns. The opposite applies to right turns.
If you have no idea how to drive a buggy or quad, our trainers will gently guide you and provide basic training before the tour. We prioritize your safety.
Many vehicles are already designed for action and fun as standard, and it doesn't have to be limited to short off-road trips, as modern quads are also suitable for long distances.
You can see from our quad and buggy fleet that we have assembled the best vehicles for you on our tours.
With a driver's license of class B, you can drive any quad, ATV, side-by-side, and race quad, regardless of its maximum speed or engine size. It should be noted that the off-road buggy must not weigh more than 3.5 tons.
If you are unsure which quad is right for you, let us advise you for free.
"Small quads with a maximum engine capacity of 50 cubic centimeters and a top speed of up to 45 km/h can even be driven by adolescents aged 15 and older in Germany, as the Class AM driver's license is sufficient for that. You can find more information on this link.
